A colorful and artsy facade on Soler street invites us into Fierro and to Uco restaurant. Decorated mainly in black, red, grey and white with touches of beige and brown, wood textures are ever present for a warmer look and to contrast with spreaded metal details. Art and minimalist design furniture and accessories embellish the hotel’s environment, from the lobby to the terrace.

Palermo may be more of a night living neighborhood, but staying at Fierro you won’t even notice. You will enjoy the same quietness experienced during the day on this residential area, even at the latest hour. After a long day getting to know the city, rest and relaxation are ensured at one of the 27 wide and comfy suites, or even at the common areas such as the rooftop pool or the garden in the back.

With an appealing environment inspired by wines, corks and fully decorated with wood, by day the subtle darkness of this large space provides a bright contrast with the natural lightning from the garden at the back, where you can seat and take a break, have a drink or a meal. A hidden oasis surrounded by a green lush vegetation, also perfect and charming in the evening illuminated by light bulbs.

We suggest trying the Uco Experience for dinner: a 7 step gourmet menu paired with excellent fine wines specially selected from an exclusive list with over 350 national labels, curated by the executive sommelier Andrés Rosberg. You will be guided through each course and wine by an expert and multicultural team of young sommeliers and waiters, all of them very attentive and warm.

Fierro is not only a trendy, beautiful and comfortable hotel. Guests from all over the world distinguish the service quality and warmth of the concierge team. When you check in, you receive a voucher for a courtesy in-house wine tasting: an invitation to try some wines selected by the executive sommelier, who also picks the fine wines available in every room.

Patagonian History at Puerto Blest Hotel

Patagonian History at Puerto Blest Hotel

A day in Bariloche starts with a good breakfast and amazing landscapes that captivate the eyes of travelers from all over the globe. As part of the Lakes Crossing circuit we decided to be part of the Patagonian history at Puerto Blest Hotel.

patagonian-history-at-puerto-blest-hotel-4After a twenty minutes transfer from the hotel to Puerto Pañuelo we board a Catamaran to navigate for an hour the Nahuel Huapi Lake to get to Puerto Blest. The magnificent views of the andean mountain range. The snowed peaks, the seagulls flying around to get a cookie from the hands of travelers. The way the sun warms the mountains and sweeps its light on landscapes are a highlight in itself. A great way to experience the Patagonian history at Puerto Blest Hotel

patagonian-history-at-puerto-blest-hotel-5We arrived at Puerto Blest and disembark. This pier located at the end of the Blest tributary of the Nahuel Huapi Lake is a spectacle in itself, At this point you can see how the green waters of the Frías River blends with the cool blue waters of Nahuel Huapi Lake resulting in a surreal view., Surrounded by a dense Valdivian rainforest that only leaves space to enjoy the quiet beach that allows us to enjoy the Blest harbor.

Across from the harbour we find Puerto Blest Hotel. Accessible only by boat. It is a small hotel made of wood and stones like the typical german architecture of the region. With only 14 comfortable rooms, some of them include a seating area where you can relax. Certain units feature views over the lake or the river. There is wi-fi in the hotel..

patagonian-history-at-puerto-blest-hotel-2 patagonian-history-at-puerto-blest-hotel-1At the hotel´s surroundings we can enjoy various activities such as biking and hiking. There is a circuit that will take you to Los Cantaros Waterfall by doing a lovely two hours´ trekking and going up a stepped terrain of more than 800 steps bordering the cascade that begins in the Los Cantaros Lagoon, That effort is crowned visiting the “grandfather” a 1,500 years old tree. From this point we continue our trekking on this trail through the rainforest to get back to the Hotel.

Back in the hotel we enjoyed a nice and warm cup of coffee seating on the deck and having magnificent views of the lake and mountains. The landscape mesmerized you.. Makes you want to stay for hours standing in awe at such a natural beauty. Later we had dinner at the restaurant which serves a menu of local cuisine and great wines. There is also a living room with a tv set for those who love watching movies..
