Duration:4 days / 3 nights up to 9 days / 8 nights.
Description: Enjoy the most beautiful and yet least known sights in northwestern Argentina, walking along ancient Inca trails in what was once the southern part of the great Andean empire.
Some of these trails are still paved with stone blocks, and one can observe ruins of villages, temples and shrines as well as ancient traveler shelters .
The Pukamayo and Capillas river valleys have a rustic beauty, with colorful mountains eroded by time and covered in snow in the highest parts.
It's common to see Condors flying around here and herds of llamas and graceful Vicuņas abound in the mountain passes. Potrero de Payogasta and Santa Rosa de Tastil both have many archeological attractions. These silent witnesses of an exciting past are possible final destinations.
Service includes tents, all meals, cargo animals, bilingual tour guide and specially trained personnel, as well as transportation to and from Salta.
Season:April to December.
